Friday in New Orleans

The day started out as every day in New Orleans should: food and booze. We had wanted to go to Cafe du Monde for beignets, but a tour bus had just dropped off there, so we wandered the French Quarter, eventually settling on Pere Antoine. The Bayou omelette (stuffed with King Crab) was awesome, as were the incredible bloody mary and sparkling mimosa. Then it was off to Jean Lafitte's for more hurricanes.

The rest of the day was a blur of food, drink, and rain... and a very brief nap. We are big believers in the afternoon nap. Kurt had the best crawfish of his life at Acme, and that was just a warmup for dinner at Mothers. Oh yeah, we also had po-boys at Johnny's. And pralines at the market. And probably some other stuff I'm forgetting.

Lots of food here. Did we mention that?

When I saw the Johnny's pic, I was surprised it wasn't po-boys at Mothers. Now I see you had dinner there...good choice. :)
